2025 03Nympton News Autumn final with bleed - Flipbook - Page 41
Alongside events in the village, we9re keen to feature a wider range
of What9s Ons from venues across the area
Through October the Plough Gallery is showcasing
Rob Franksdad, whose photography takes a wry,
sideways look at the world. There are workshops
covering everything from felting to Garden Gargoyle making, and a
kids Halloween spooky science session. The Chase9s Paul Sinha , `Gavin &
Stacey9 star Matthew Horne and Rich Hall are on stage in November. And in
the run-up to Xmas there9s a singalong version of The Greatest Showman,
while the Exmoor Carolers kick off the Christmas week.
Alongside a raft of tribute evenings, from the Eagles via
Elvis, to Taylor Swift, Barnstaple welcomes Johnny Rotten
himself - John Lydon - on what9s describe as a
`pyrotechnic, one-off tour9. There9s kids panto with Alladin,
and adult fare with `Jack and his Thumping Great Stalk9!
For comedy fans Chris McCausalnd returns, and in December there9s easy
listening Christmas evenings with The Rat Pack, a Christmas Night at the
Opera and Abba Merry Christmas.
There9s still just time to catch Exe Men - the story of how an
unfashionable Devon rugby club rose to become double
winning champions of England and Europe. Panto is Jack and
the Beanstalk (family version!!)
The Burton Gallery is a great place to while away an
hour or so (plus it has a fabulous French Bistro
attached!) - the annual Westward Ho! & Bideford Art
Soc exhibition is on until early November - that9s followed by The Friends
Open Exhibition, which features work from across the UK. And the
Ceramics Gallery will be hosting the intriguingly titled `Despised Mud, I
Love You9, exploring artist William Cobbing9s relationship with clay.
