With half-term coming up I thought I would look out some family friendly
activities for the week. Viewing online? Click on the logos for websites.
Many of our regular attractions - The Big Sheep, the Milky Way, Quince
Honey Farm, National Trust properties and more, include Halloween,
harvest and orework displays in the admission price. For those on a budget,
there are a few free or low cost options below.
The Quince Honey Farm near South Molton is a great
attraction in its own right, but over half term it will also be
opening up its pumpkin patch for you to chose your own
carving pumpkin. Priced per pumpkin! But do remember to
use all the nesh you carve out - see recipe on p40!
Arlington Court has a scarecrow trail, while Knightshayes has
a Halloween experience, and invites you to download the
`Stranger Folk9 app and use it to navigate the property. NT
admission applies (free for members).
Loads of free fun in Barnstaple Pannier Market, with pumpkin
carving, Halloween crafting, a fancy dress disco and a
screening of Hotel Transylvania. Search `Barnstaple Pannier
Market9 for more info.
The Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter has three
days of fascinating immersive history experiences,
featuring the ancient Greeks, the Romans and the Egyptians. Booking
essential. £5.50 per child
