August at 2pm. The service was taken by Rev. Jane Lucas and the organist
was Chris Cope. This was attended by 76 adults and 3 children. A very
moving service. Donations raised were divided between the National
Rheumatoid Arthritis Society, St. James the Apostle Church and St .Mathews
Church, Cheriton Fitzpaine. £495 raised in donations for our Church.
Saturday, 23rd August at 2.30pm Roland Sanders ashes were buried in our
Churchyard, near the bench presented by Michael Grandey. Anthea and
family only attended,
Bank holiday Monday, 25th August, 12noon-4pm. The Revel held at the
Parish Hall. The sun shone, but a bit windy. It was opened by Michael
Grandey. The compere was Joe Sanders. I must say Joe was absolutely
brillant. Roland would have been proud. The total raised was £4,129.88.
Evensong on 31st August at 4.30pm. This was a joint service with George
Nympton. 24 adults in attendance and 1 child. A gift was presented to John
Ayre by Anthea for his past services as Church Warden. Flowers were
presented to Chrissy King for the organisation of the Revel. Jennie Ingram
was not in attendance at the Church so Michael Grandey presented her
flowers to her home for the organisation of the Revel.
As we go to press we are about to hold the Harvest Service (see pictures
overleaf) and the Joint Village Harvest Supper with the Chapel
Future events:
Friday, 7th November there will be an Exhibition of Remembrance work by
the School in the Church for 10 days
9th November. at 10.50am Remembrance Sunday Service.
Just to let everyone know that from 1st September we have a new Bell
Ringing Captain, Martin Pailthorpe, who has taken over from Dom Pallett.
Congratulations Martin. I'm sure you will do a wonderful job
We will continue with regular services at our Church. I will be putting

Wednesday, 17th December at 9.30am Christmas Carol Service with the
school children.
Thursday, 25th December at 10am Christmas Day Family Service.
