asked to develop a breakfast series for them. I would create the recipe,
then write up the nutrition analysis.9 As an experiment, she also started to
record and shoot the recipes, with videos appearing on her clients
websites. She and James moved to Devon (James9s parents ran pubs on
Exmoor) just after Covid, and the birth of their children followed. `Living
here remotely, I couldn't do a general nine to ove job or even private
chefong. I don't have my family nearby and I
just can't do those hours with small children
but we have the preschool and the school in
the village and I found I could work from
home in school hours.9 The recipes she
creates for clients have to follow a specioc
brief, but her own videos give her a chance
to showcase some of her own favourites.
`Some of them are cooking from scratch and
some of them are a bit more simple but it's
just to inspire people to give cooking a go and maybe try something
new - a different ingredient or something
like that.9 The `have a go9 mentality drove
her orst videos. `I had thought about it for
ages and I think I was like, right, if I don't
do it now, I'm never going to do it. I didn't
know what I was doing - I think I made
granola. I literally set up here in the
kitchen. I didn't know what angles were,
you know . I had a really dodgy tripod that
used to fall over all the time into the food,
but you9ve got to push yourself out of your
comfort zone and do it. And I9m not a tech
savvy person so it took me ages to edit it that was just over a year ago now and since then I've done a few videos
for different brands - for free at orst, and that led on to paid work, and
then I started doing videos for my own page. But I'm learning all the
