A not-for-proot association
As I write this, we are about to hold our onal café of the season on
Wednesday April 9th.
We have had a very successful season with our cafes being well attended by
both our regulars and new customers. We also have many visitors who are
staying at our local holiday homes so thank
you to everyone who advertises us in their
accommodation.
You may remember in the last edition me
saying that we would be sponsoring our
village Christmas Parade on December 23rd.
This we did and were delighted at the
turnout. We will again be sponsoring this
year9s parade, making sure we have plenty of sweets for the children as well
as Port and mince pies for the adults.
During our café on Wednesday March 12th, we were visited by the North
Devon Council9s Food Safety &
Hygiene Ofocer for our Food Safety &
Hygiene inspection. I am delighted
to say that we were awarded a Food
Hygiene rating of 5!! You may have
seen it on Facebook? A big thank you
goes to all our volunteers who work
tirelessly to make
each café a success.
From cooking the
delicious cakes, soups & quiches beforehand to cooking
our, by now much loved breakfasts, on the day. Then there
are the nower arrangers, the team who sets up and clears
away and of course the volunteers who help on the day.
Without our volunteers there would be no cafe and we are
always delighted to welcome new members to our team,
in any capacity. Should you have any comments/
feedback/suggestions they would be most welcome. And
of course, anyone willing to join our team do let me know.
Thank you. Linda The Firs
