passengers had to guide him. He was telling us stories of how he was
once mistaken for Peter Andre on a beach: which was good for a laugh. I
am sure that he will ond his way and at least he seems to understand the
concept of " community bus".
My fellow passengers are usually limited to the regular 6 or 8 from
Chulmleigh and Chris, Joyce and
sometimes Cedric. One lady visits her
elderly mother in Eastleigh ( and would
visit more frequently if there was more
than one bus a week) and another lady is
usually with her daughter but sadly the
average age of the passengers tells its
own story and one wonders how many
people would take advantage of a more
frequent bus service if it was offered.
I believe that the bus is used on the local school run, presumably to
Chulmleigh from Lapford and outlying villages , when not transporting us
to market on a Thursday.
It's a sad renection of modern rural life that public transport has become
so limited and no doubt the over 60's Bus Pass will be the next beneot to
be withdrawn from pensioners.
