ST. JAMES’S CHURCH
I will be standing again as Church Warden for
another year. I hope to continue for as long as I am
able or when I am voted out.
The Quinquennial inspection was carried out on
10th December. The Architect needs to come back & onish her report.
Diane Alexander has stood down as fundraiser for the church after many
years. She will be sorely missed.
The Christmas Fayre on 7th December4 organised by Diane Alexander raised £886.60 despite storm Darragh. A big Thank You to Diane.
I raised £120 for the church by selling the old Wyren organ on EBay.
Christingle on 8th December raised £131 for the Children9s Society.
The Wren concert held at the church on 21st December 6, organised by Sue
Rainger & Jennie Ingram was attended by 61 people & raised £357.
Thankyou to Sue & Jenny.
I am always looking for volunteers to organise fundraising events for the
church, just contact me.
It was a very disappointing turn out for Christmas Eve Communion &
Christmas Day Family Service.
The Plough Sunday Service on 26th January 2025 was a joint service with
the Chapel & 26 people attended.
Several special services have produced excellent attendance.
Mothering Sunday service on 30th March - 25 adults, 4 children & 2 babies
in attendance.
The usual service pattern will continue with Evensong every 5th week.
Future events
13th April at 9.30am Palm Sunday service.
19th April 10-12noon Easter Trail at the Parish Hall.
20th April at 9.30am Easter Sunday service.
27th July 11am Patronal Communion followed by bring & share lunch held
at the Church.
3rd August at 4.30pm Open Air Songs of Praise service. This is a joint
service with the Chapel held in the square.
The Revel, Parish hall, Monday, 25th August, 12noon - 4pm.
The church bench has been replaced.
