2025 01 Spring with bleed - Flipbook - Page 31
The new windows in the Schoolroom were installed at the beginning of
December. They are of the same design as the old windows and make the
room secure and help retain the heat. We have been holding our Winter
Sunday morning Services in the Schoolroom in order to keep our heating
costs down.
We have had 4 months of fundraising. The Christmas Coffee Morning
raised £304 for Chapel funds. The Ukuladies entertained us in December.
The evening was well attended and followed by refreshments. £220 raised
for our funds.
The United Carol Service this year was held in the Chapel with the
collection of £151 going to Action for Children.
We took our 27th January Service to the Firs Care Home at Witheridge in
celebration of Mrs Christine Skinners 102nd birthday. Revd Jeanette
Richardson led the
Service and we were joined by a great many residents and staff. It was a
wonderful time of fellowship and lovely to worship with Mrs Skinner again.
We now have ramps making access into our building easier for wheelchair
users.
We have held a Valentines Day Soup Lunch and a Pancake
afternoon. Both were great fun to hold and being able to utilise the
Schoolroom for special events is our aim. £601 was raised at the two
events for Chapel Funds. Thank you to all who were able to join us.
We especially remember our friends in the Parish who are ill, recovering
from illness or have moved to a new residence.
We wish you all a Happy and Blessed Easter.
